GNYA held its first chapel service of the year led by Pr. George Sekesan, new chaplain and religion teacher.

Using the story of the adulterous woman who Jesus saved from stoning (John 8:3-12), Pr. Sekesan invited the student body to make the best of a school year just beginning. His message made emphasis on experiencing the blessing of a new beginning just as the one given to the woman in the story when Jesus told her: "neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin."

The program included a musical selection from sophomores Angela Caesar and Samantha Howard. They sang "His Eye Is on the Sparrow" acapella to the enjoyment of an audience delighted by their harmonious and intense voices.

Newly appointed Pr. George Sekesan, who was born in Manhattan and raised in Queens, comes to GNYA with over 11 years of experience in education and pastoral ministry. He has served in both the Uinted States and Eastern Europe. A graduate of Atlantic Union College with a Master of Divinity degree from Andrews University, Pr. Sekesan is also an aviator who forsook flying in order to be a pilot of souls.
