GNYA to Adopt Google Apps

In an effort to improve connectivity and collaboration within the school, steps are being taken to introduce the educational edition of Google Apps to all members of the school community.

Google Apps features several Web applications with similar functionality to traditional office suites. The Education Edition, already available to all members of the school community, include Gmail, Google Calendar, and Docs. These applications are compatible with office software already in use at the school.

The school's Google Calendar is already available online. While you may view the calendar without logging in to Google Apps, signing up gives you access to the school's Google Calendar application. This will allow you to share your own calendars with other members of the school community (if you so choose) as well as have access to theirs.

We will be testing this new service during the second semester of the current school year hoping to get everyone on board when the next school year begins. If you would like to use these applications now, email the webmaster requesting access.
